Creatine Monohydrate

Why it's in Skarp.

The brain is an energy-hungry organ, using roughly a fifth of the body's total. Creatine is part of how cells store and rapidly regenerate that energy. Skarp includes a full 5 g, the amount used in most research, rather than a token sprinkle.

What the research says

Creatine is one of the most extensively studied supplements in the world, with a very large literature on safety and physical performance. Its role in cognition is newer and moving fast. A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis of 16 randomised controlled trials reported positive effects on memory and information-processing speed, with signals strongest in people under stress, short on sleep, or otherwise taxed. The evidence is not uniform across every cognitive measure, and the authors call for larger trials, but the direction is consistent and the safety record is exceptional.

L-theanine

Why it's in Skarp.

An amino acid found in tea, associated with calm, focused attention rather than stimulation. It works specifically alongside caffeine, which is exactly why Skarp is made to be taken before your first coffee, not instead of it. We use L-theanine within a natural green-tea extract, not a synthetic isolate.

What the research says

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis of 50 randomised trials found that L-theanine combined with caffeine produced small-to-moderate improvements on attention tasks, most clearly in the second hour after intake, and that L-theanine on its own may modestly support cognitive performance. The effects are real but subtle, and the quality of individual studies varies, something the reviewers are candid about.

Rhodiola rosea

Why it's in Skarp.

A traditional Nordic and Eastern European adaptogen, a plant studied for helping the body cope with stress and fatigue. Skarp uses a standardised, lab-verified extract (confirmed by HPLC, not cheaper UV testing) at a dose used in clinical studies.

What the research says

This is the most preliminary of Skarp's three signature actives, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. A systematic review of 11 randomised trials found some evidence that rhodiola may help with physical performance and mental fatigue, but concluded the research is contradictory and limited by methodological weaknesses, and called for better-designed trials. We include it because the mechanism and centuries of traditional use are compelling and because our dose is honest, not because the science is settled.

Magnesium — 200 mg, bisglycinate

EFSA-authorised: contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal muscle function, normal psychological function, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Stress depletes magnesium faster than almost anything. We use bisglycinate, a well-absorbed, gentle-on-the-stomach form, not cheap oxide.

B-vitamins — B12 (methylcobalamin), B6 (P-5-P), folate (5-MTHF)

EFSA-authorised: contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal psychological function, and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
The machinery that turns food into usable cellular energy, which coffee does not do. Delivered in active, bioavailable forms your body can use directly
B12  B6 Folate

Vitamin D3 — 2000 IU
Vitamin K2 — 100 mcg, MK-7

EFSA-authorised: D3 contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the maintenance of normal muscle function and bones.

Especially relevant this far north, where sunlight is too weak to make enough for much of the year, and many people run low without knowing it.

EFSA-authorised: K2 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.

Included as the essential partner to D3: it helps direct the calcium D3 absorbs to where it belongs. That's why we never add one without the other.

Electrolytes — sodium 800 mg & potassium 200 mg

EFSA-authorised (potassium): contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and normal muscle function.

You wake up mildly dehydrated every morning, and water alone doesn't fix it. Sodium and potassium pull water into your cells and get the body going, so your first glass actually hydrates.

Ingredients:

Rhodiola Rosea extract

Rhodiola rosea is a premium adaptogenic plant extract traditionally used during demanding periods. It is included in the formula for days when pressure is high, routines are intense, and your body needs extra support to stay balanced under stress.

For entrepreneurs, operators, and high-output professionals, the goal is simple: a steadier foundation for demanding mornings, long workdays, back-to-back meetings, and high-pressure decision-making.

Our Rhodiola is HPLC-verified, meaning the extract is tested for consistency and quality, so every serving delivers the same standardised plant profile.

L-Theanine

Focus is a competitive advantage. Anyone can drink another coffee. The challenge is turning that energy into meaningful work. On its own, too much caffeine can leave you feeling restless and easily distracted. Paired with L-theanine, it becomes something different.

L-theanine works synergistically with caffeine to support sustained focus, attention, and mental clarity, while helping smooth out the jitters that can pull you out of your flow. That is why Skarp is best taken on an empty stomach right before your morning coffee.

Creatine Monohydrate

Most people know creatine for muscles, but it also helps brain cells keep fast energy available. In the brain, that means thinking, memory, and focus have better conditions to work when you are tired, stressed, overloaded, or your brain is running low on energy.

B12, B6 and Methylfolate

These vitamins help produce the neurotransmitters your brain uses to regulate energy, mood, focus, and mental sharpness.

In practice, this means your cells have better conditions to produce energy, and communication inside the brain works more efficiently. So when people say “my thoughts are not moving,” there is actually something real behind that.

D3 + K2

D3 supports the body’s and nervous system’s core functions, while K2 helps the body use it more intelligently. These are not here for an instant kick. They are here to build the foundation that allows the more active ingredients to work better.

Sodium + Potassium

In the morning, the body is often already slightly dehydrated. Sodium and potassium help fluids absorb properly and support the nervous system’s electrical function.

For the brain, this means a faster start in the morning, better alertness, and sharper focus because you are not starting the day in a dehydrated state.

Magnesium Bisglycinate

Magnesium is needed for nervous system function and for cells to produce energy properly. When the nervous system is more stable, the mind works more steadily too.

In this formula, magnesium is mainly here to help the brain and nervous system recover when the body is under heavy stress. That gives direct support to mental performance, especially when you are running under load.
